Now with their eighties, Otto had become an angry man: cancer angry wife, angry at his "chronic disease", angry at his neighbors in Forest Hills (noisy children, dogs that kept barking, lawn mowers, soplahojas), angry at having to wait two hours' cold storage "for its most recent MRI, angry with the politicians, even those for which it had helped to seek the vote during his time of euphoria, when he retired from his job as school teacher fifteen years earlier. Otto was angry with old age, but who was going to say the poor man?. It would be his daughter and son-less.
